We encourage all our supporters to “gift it forward” this season, and help out our Aklesia Clothe One Movement. Still, our real passion and desire is to help those who are in need. So whether you want to give the gift of a school uniform to a child in Thailand and help prevent child prostitution, or you have another act of kindness in mind, let’s be an encouragement this holiday season.

Take someone needy out to eat. There are people all around us who need more than just money. They need company, people to speak into their lives. This Christmas, take someone who needs it out to eat. Instead of just buying them food or giving them money, interact with them. Talk to them. Enjoy their company. Who knows, maybe you’ll start a meaningful friendship with someone that needs it?

Donate old clothing to Salvation Army. Get a big trash bag, and collect all the clothes that you don’t wear anymore. Instead of throwing it away, drop it off at a local Salvation Army or Goodwill. This is a very simple way that you can clothe some people who need it this winter.

Set aside donation money for a charity/organization. Be intentional this Christmas to set aside a certain amount for a charity or organization. Do some research on the organization(s) before you decide to give them money. We recommend considering The Sold Project because their organization really gets at the heart of combating child prostitution. Organizations like this really need us to support them in any way that we can.

Host a fundraiser. This Christmas, host a “get together” or “party” that is used to encourage participants to donate to a specific cause. If you don’t want to play that much, you can even just have a movie night. Ask people to bring a certain amount, and fundraise a little. Imagine if even ten people who read this actually held a fundraiser? Even that would be a lot of money to help out a very good organization.

Send out an encouragement letter/email to someone who needs it. We all have people in our lives that are struggling or going through difficult times. This Christmas, be very intentional about supporting them through this season! Send them an encouraging letter or email, speak kind words and blessing over them. We are so blessed to have each other in our lives, let’s take advantage of that!

Little actions go a long way—one small act of kindness can change someone’s life entirely. All of us need encouragement and support from time to time, so let’s do our part in making this world a better place.
